March Goal – Week 1

I’m not going to lie to you about how we’ve done this week on our goal. We have been eating so many carbohydrates this week. Because we’ve been lacking in the vegetable department, this week to fill our tummies we had pasta or bread (or both) with every dinner meal.

Although I’m ashamed to admit it, on Saturday we went to the grocery store. But let me explain, you see, Monday is Nate’s birthday and for his birthday he is getting a huge charcoal grill. So this meant 2 things. We needed meat to grill this week, and I needed things to make him a cake.  And we figured since we were at the store we might as well get some fresh fruits and vegetables. So we added apples, oranges, bananas, broccoli, asparagus and peppers to our cart. The total was 39$ which I don’t feel bad about at all. (If we only spend 40 each week on groceries that’s a total of 160, which is 160 dollars less than our average monthly bill, if you recall. So that would save us a lot still).

Here is what we’ve eaten so far. (Recipes to come on snickerdoodles, bread, bbq chicken pizza)

Day 1 March 3rd
Breakfast: Banana.
Snack: Pretzels.
Lunch: Nachos.
Dinner: Lasagna with salad (with my Vienna friends).
Dessert: Snickerdoodles and brownies.

Day 2 March 4th
Breakfast: Nothing.
Lunch: Nothing.
Snacks: Snickerdoodles, chili cheese fritos.
Dinner: BBQ Beef sandwiches with homemade bread.
Dessert: Dried fruit.

Day 3 March 5th
Breakfast: Honey Nut Cheerios for Aimee. Maple and Brown Sugar oatmeal for Nate.
Lunch:Leftover BBQ chicken pizza.
Dinner: Homemade bread, a banana, rice noodles with chicken.
Dessert: Snickerdoodle icecream sandwich.

Day 4 March 6th
Breakfast: Honey Nut Cheerios for Aimee.
Lunch: Nature Valley Oats and Honey Bar for Aimee. Oatmeal for Nate.
Dinner: Fried Rice Rice-a-roni for Aimee. Leftover rice noodles for Nate.
Dessert: Mint chocolate chip icecream.

Day 5 March 7th
Breakfast: Honey Nut Cheerios for Aimee.
Lunch: Brown Sugar Pop Tart.
Dinner: Pastaroni and Sloppy Joes.

Day 6 March 8th
Breakfast: Honey Nut Cheerios for Aimee. Oatmeal for Nate.
Lunch: Popcorn for Aimee. Crackers for Nate.
Dinner: Chef Boyardi Ravioli and green beans for Aimee. Leftover Rice-a-roni for Nate.

Day 7 March 9th
Breakfast: Brown Sugar Poptart for Aimee.
Lunch: nothing.
Dinner: Bean Curry, Brown Rice, and Jerk Chicken for Aimee (at a friends).

Day 8 March 10th
Breakfast: Nothing
Lunch: Chicken Soft Tacos from Del Taco (with a free coupon for 2, for Nate’s birthday)
Dinner: Spaghetti, broccoli, and garlic bread

Day 9 March 11th
Breakfast: Honey Nut Cheerios for Aimee.
Lunch: Leftover spaghetti with bread for Nate. Strawberry Poptart for Aimee.
Dinner: TBA
