Maybe I’m starting to nest early but lately I have been feeling really crafty. Or at least I have seen a lot of crafts that I have wanted to make.
Even food bloggers can be crafty sometimes too, and hopefully you won’t mind while I share this one with you. (And maybe more if I actually make them).
I don’t know if this is complicated enough to even call it a “craft” but I think its adorable. A lot of people are already jumping on the Christmas bandwagon (some neighbors even have lights up already). But I’m not quite ready for that and I want to take advantage of this next great holiday we have coming to us this month. Thanksgiving of course. I’m ready to embrace the pies, leftover turkey sandwiches, and gratitude. How about you?
To start the season of right, here are 8 things (since today is the 8th) I am especially grateful for, right now:
1. My husband. He is smart, funny, kind, handsome and all kinds of perfect for me.
2. The fall leaves. I’m embracing fall as long as it’ll let me even though the weather has been SO cold lately. Our Bradford Pear tree in our backyard is the most colorful and beautiful fall leaf tree I have ever seen.
3. My job. I work at a really great place with really great people.
4. This little baby inside of me. This little one is about the size of a peach now and I can’t wait to really be its mama.
5. Our home. Two years ago today we got the keys to our home and its the cutest.
6. My kitchen. I love our cute little kitchen. Its where my creative juices come out most.
7. Our pup. Aspen is the sweetest dog there ever was. He knows when to play, he knows when I want to cuddle and is always loving.
8. My family. I have the best parents, brother, brother and sister in laws, parents in laws, grandparents, cousins. Ever.
Give Thanks Banner DIY
20 small clothes pins
about 8 feet bakers twine
cardstock paper
GIVE THANKS letters (here’s the file for mine)
scissors and straight paper cutter
1. Open file and print letters onto cardstock paper (or make and print your own letters and banner shapes).
2. Cut straight edges with the straight paper cutter or scissors. Cut corner edges with scissors (I left about 1/3 to 1/2 centimeter on each edge).
3. Begin pinning your letters onto your bakers twine about 6-8 inches from the edge of the twine. Pin one clothespin on both sides of each letter. Space the letters about 1/2 to 1 inch apart.
4. After pinning the letters G-I-V-E, add about 6-8 inches (to match the other side) and cut the bakers twine.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the letters T-H-A-N-K-S.
6. Hang banners over a fireplace or on any wall. Make sure to space the THANKS banner correctly so that it doesn’t cover up the GIVE banner.
Enjoy this easy and festive holiday decor!

Thank you for the link to your template. I made the banner by printing the letters on cream paper and them backed them on dark gold paper with a 1/2in border. Turned out so pretty…hung on my dining room mirror. Happy Thanksgiving!
