Easter Rice Krispie Nests

These Easter Rice Krispie Nests are adorable nest shaped rice krispie treats filled with green frosting, and chocolate egg candies to look like cute spring bird nests. Such a fun, and delicious Easter treat!

Ingredients

  • 4 TBS butter
  • 16 oz mini marshmallows
  • 9 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 16 oz white frosting (vanilla or cheese work great)
  • green food coloring
  • green grass sprinkles (optional)
  • 60 Chocolate Easter Egg Candies

Instructions

  • Grease a muffin pan (or two) with nonstick spray.
  • Add the butter to a large pot over medium low heat.
  • Once it is melted, add in the mini marshmallows and stir them together till the marshmallows are totally melted.
  • Add in the crisp rice cereal, vanilla extract, and salt and stir it all together until the cereal is evenly coated.
  • Spoon rice krispie treats into the prepared muffin pan spots and press the middle down the a spoon.
  • Let them set for 20-30 minutes.
  • Stir the frosting in a bowl with the green food coloring until the color is mixed evenly.
  • Scoop the frosting into a ziplock bag, or piping bag, and pipe it evenly into the tops of the rice krispie treats.
  • Sprinkle the tops with sprinkles if desired.
  • Top each nest with three chocolate Easter candies.
  • Enjoy.
