"I just want to say I love loved your recipe. It is to die for, all my friends enjoy it too. We made a brown sugar and cinnamon ice cream to go with these apple slices and that was heaven"

5 Tips for Making Fried Apple Rings

01 Use apples that are firm and won't fall apart. Like Granny Smith, Gala, or Honey Crisp

03 Use a thermometer to check your oil temperature

02 I use a mandolin slicer to cut the apples into even 1/4inch slices

04 Enjoy right away! These will turn soft fast

05 Serve with hot fudge, caramel sauce, whipped cream or ice cream

01

Mix together your dry ingredients in a bowl.  Then mix your buttermilk and egg in another bowl.  Dump the buttermilk mixture into the flour mixture and stir them together.

02

Cut your apples into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out the core of each of the slices. Cut each of the apple slices into 2 rings with a cookie cutter.

03

Dip the apple slices into your batter.  Then add a few battered slices at a time into a pot of preheated oil.  Cook until each side is golden brown.

04

Dip the fried apple rings in cinnamon sugar on both sides. Serve hot!
