Mexican Pulled Pork

This Slow Cooker Mexican Pulled Pork is a tender, and flavorful seasoned meat that is cooked in the crock pot. It's perfect for making pork tacos, or other Mexican inspired favorites.

Ingredients

  • 2 TBS brown sugar
  • 1 TBS chili powder
  • 1 TBS cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 lbs pork shoulder roast

Instructions

  • Add the seasoning ingredients to a small bowl and mix them all together.
  • Add the roast to the slow cooker, and rub the spice mixture all over the sides of the pork. 
  • Pour the tomato sauce over the roast.
  • Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pork is tender and pulls apart. (Or on high for 5-6 hours).
  • Shred the pork with 2 forks in the slow cooker, and stir it into the sauce mixture.
  • Scoop the meat out with a slotted spoon, leaving the extra juices and sauce behind.
  • Serve the meat with warm tortillas, and your favorite taco toppings.
