Apple Crisp
This is the best homemade apple crisp! It's the perfect fall dessert, with warm cinnamon apples topped with a crunchy crumbly topping.

For the Crumble Topping:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 6 TBS butter
- 1/2 cup oats
For the Apple Filling:
- 5 cups chopped apples (cored and peeled too)
- 2 TBS flour
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 TBS lemon juice
- 1/8 tsp salt
Combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a medium sized bowl.
Dice up the butter and add it into the mixture. Use two forks or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Fold in the oats. Set aside in the fridge till needed.
For the Apple Filling:
Place the apples in a large bowl and toss them with the flour, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Fold till they are coated well.
Pour the apples into a greased 9x9in pan or other pan with a similar size (about 2.5 quarts)
Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes until the apples are bubbling, and the topping is golden brown and crisp.
Allow to cool for a few minutes then serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
