Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

This Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus is a delicious, and classic appetizer that combines the crispness of asparagus with the salty flavor or prosciutto, and parmesan cheese. It's an impressive, and elegant looking dish that is perfect for entertaining, but only made with a few easy ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 2 TBS unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 TBS minced garlic
  • 16 asparagus spears
  • 8 thin slices of prosciutto
  • 1/4 tsp salt (to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 TBS freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425° Fahrenheit.
  • Mix the butter and garlic in a small bowl. Brush it over the top of the asparagus pieces.
  • Slice the proscuitto slices in half down the length or the slice. 
  • Roll a piece of prosciutto around each asparagus spear, from the top to the bottom, wrapping them fairly tightly. Place them onto a baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper lightly over the top of the asparagus.
  • Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top of the asparagus.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the asparagus is crisp tender.
  • Add extra parmesan on top if desired. Enjoy warm.

Notes

  • Prepare in Advanced - You can wrap the asparagus with the prosciutto and store them in the fridge for a few hours, until you are ready to roast them for your event.
