Baked Carrots

These baked carrots are perhaps the simplest side dish you will ever make with only 3 ingredients - carrots, butter, and seasoning.


  • 5 whole carrots
  • 2 Tbs butter or margarine
  • salt and pepper to taste


  • Wash and peel the carrots
  • Cut the ends off
  • Cut the carrots so the pieces are 2 to 3 inches long
  • Cut to quarters or eighths your carrot pieces (depending on how fat the carrot was)
  • Take a good size sheet of foil
  • Pile the carrots on the foil
  • Cut the butter into 4 pieces and place on the carrots
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper
  • Roll the foil up to close it.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes (depending on how thin your carrot slices are)
