- 4-8 lb spiral sliced ham
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 3/4 cup honey
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
For Thickening the Sauce:
- 1 TBS cornstarch
- 2 TBS water
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Add your ham to the slow cooker and pour the apple juice over the top.
Pour the honey over the top of the ham. And pour the brown sugar on top too. Press the brown sugar all around the sides of the ham.
Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, or until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. (Reglaze the ham with the sauce once or twice).
For Thickening the Sauce:
Transfer the liquid from the bottom of the slow cooker into a medium sized sauce pan. Heat over medium high heat to bring the liquid to a simmer.
Whisk together cornstarch and water in a small bowl and add it to the simmering sauce.
Stir in the brown sugar.
Let the sauce continue to simmer for 6 to 8 minutes until it is thickened.
Preheat the oven to high broil.
Add the ham to a baking dish and glaze the ham all over with the sauce using a silicone brush.
Add the ham to the oven and let it broil for 3 to 5 minutes until the sauce is sticky on the ham. (Remove it once or twice while broiling to spread more glaze on).
Serve the ham immediately.
