Ingredients

For the Seven Layer Dip:

  • 16 oz Refried Beans
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1/2 TBS Taco Seasoning
  • 1 cup Chunky Salsa (We don't want a watery salsa)
  • 1 cup Guacamole
  • 1 cup Shredded Mexican Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 TBS Diced Green Onions
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream
  • 1/4 cup Black Olives

Instructions

  • Spread the refried beans evenly in the bottom of a shallow round dish, or pie plate. 16 oz Refried Beans
  • Mix the Sour Cream and Taco Seasoning in a small bowl. Spoon the sour cream over the beans in an even layer. 1 cup Sour Cream, 1/2 TBS Taco Seasoning
  • Spoon the salsa over the top of the sour cream, leaving the extra liquid behind. 1 cup Chunky Salsa
  • Spread the guacamole evenly over the salsa. 1 cup Guacamole
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese all around the edge of the dish, 1-2 inches around the edge. 1 cup Shredded Mexican Cheese
  • Sprinkle the tomatoes and green onion over the cheese. 1/4 cup Diced Tomatoes, 2 TBS Diced Green Onions

For the Spider Web Design:

  • Spoon the remaining sour cream into a small ziplock bag. Snip off a tiny corner, and pipe first a large plus sign in the middle of the cheese, then an x on top of that. Then connect the lines with rounded lines between each one making the spider web design. 1/4 cup Sour Cream
  • Cut an olive in half for the spiders body. Slice the olives into thin slices and cut them in half to make spider legs. Place a body with four "legs" on each side. You can add 1-3 spiders on your dish, whatever will fit. 1/4 cup Black Olives
  • Add more olive slices over the cheese as garnish.
  • Serve immediately, or store in the fridge for a few hours until needed.

Notes

  • Use a Clear Glass Dish: Then you can see all the layers from the side, which makes this extra pretty!
  • Make Ahead of Time: If you're making this ahead of time, make sure to cover it tightly with plastic wrap (especially if you're using fresh guac, we don't want it turning brown) and add the garnishes when you're ready to serve it so the design stays nice, and nothing gets watery or wilty.
  • Serve With: Serve with tortilla chips, sliced bell peppers, celery sticks, or other crackers.
  • Storage Instructions: Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days. It's best on the first day, and the guacamole may brown over time, but it will still be save to eat.
