These red white and blue jello cups are such a fun patriotic dessert, they are so festive, fun and delicious!
Preparing layered desserts are time consuming but so fun to eat. With each spoonful you will enjoy flavors of strawberry, raspberry, and whipped cream topping. These patriotic red, white, and blue Jello cups are so fun and flavoriful to eat.
I am not going to lie, this recipe is a little time consuming, but it’s totally worth it in the end. You have to make each of the jellos, then let them cool a little, then carefully pour them into each of your cups. Then let the layer chill and set in the fridge. It’s probably only about 15-20 minutes of actual work for you, but probably takes about 3 hours of time to make.
So, basically how this recipe works is you get three colors of jello to make three different layers of jello, red, white and blue. You can choose what flavors you’ll want for your red jello, you can have raspberry, strawberry, or cherry. For the blue jello you’ll probably find a berry blue or blue raspberry flavor, though there are some other brands that may have different flavors.
And for the white layer you’ll need plain gelatin. To get the layer a nice bold white, you’ll mix it with some sweetened condensed milk, which also helps sweeten the layer too.
This recipe makes enough for 6 cups, which are each about 6oz in size. You could use smaller glasses like shot glasses to get more servings, or you could double the recipe (just make 2 boxes of jello at once instead of one).
You could also skip the cups altogether and make this into a casserole dish instead. For the amount of jello as called for in the recipe you should use a 9×9 inch baking dish to make sure the layers are thick enough. Then cut it up and serve it in squares instead.
And then of course on the top, I added some fresh whipped cream, because whipped cream makes everything better. I also topped mine with some cute red, white, and blue sprinkles, some star sprinkles, and a cherry on top to make them extra cute.
Everyone will love these adorable, red, white, and blue jello cups. They really are so yummy and so festive!

- 3 oz blue Jello

- 3 oz red Jello
- 3 cups water (divided)
- 1 cup whipped cream (homemade or cool whip)
- 6 maraschino cherries
Instructions
- Place 6 cups onto a small baking tray or pan. (This just makes it easier to move the cups into the fridge and out of the fridge without disturbance)
- Bring 1 cup of water to boil.
- Pour boiling water over blue jello packet in a small bowl. Stir for 2 minutes.
- Allow to cool for 10-20 minutes until it's no longer warm.
- Pour blue jello evenly into the 6 cups. (I used a funnel to pour each layer, to keep it from dripping on the sides)
- Transfer cups to the refrigerator for about 20 minutes or until the jello is set.
- Bring 1 cup of water to boil.
- Pour boiling water over the unflavored gelatin packet in a small bowl. Stir for 2 minutes.

I have a question. So you don’t follow the directions on the box to make jello? If not, why? It makes jello firm like that too. Just wondering why less water.
Aimee says
Sorry I just saw this, I like the jello a bit thicker than the box directions for these.
