There isn’t much better than a big bowl of ice cream loaded with some hot fudge. Except when you add banana slices, caramel syrup, crushed up cookies, sprinkles and every other topping your heart and stomach desires. That’s right, who doesn’t love a banana split – and this way, with a banana split bar, everyone can add whatever toppings, and sauces, and ice cream deliciousness that they want.

About a month ago was my son Colby’s second birthday. We had a Curious George themed party, including a banana split bar because little monkeys love bananas and it was a huge hit. Now I’m going to have a banana split bar at every party or bbq we have because it’s such an easy way to have a tasty dessert that everyone will love. Especially in the hot summer!

Everyone can customize their ice cream bowl with whatever toppings they want and that way everyone will be happy. For our party I got Blue Bunny® Ice Cream and Smucker’s Ice Cream toppings from Walmart because I was able to find everything I needed!

I recommend having at least two ice cream flavors, as well as a good variety of toppings that everyone will love. Some of our favorites are chocolate creme-fillled cookies, chocolate candies, sprinkles, maraschino cherries and of course Smucker’s Ice Cream sauces!

So basically you’ll just need to get your favorite ice creams and toppings from the store, and don’t forget the bananas. I recommend grabbing Blue Bunny® Ice Cream and Smucker’s Ice Cream toppings and your favorite sprinklable toppings from Walmart.

Some of the toppings I recommend are:

• maraschino cherries
• colorful chocolate candies
• sprinkles (jimmies)
• gummy bears
• chopped nuts
• chopped up chocolate creme-filled cookies
• whipped cream
• and any other favorites you might have

Serve everything up in individual bowls or jars, with the sauces and ice cream. You’ll need spoons and scoops for everything, and a bowl and spoon for each person! Set it up on a table and let everyone have at it.
