Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups salted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large mixing bowl, or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Cream together the butter, sugar, and salt. Beat them until they are light and fluffy.
  • Add in the eggs, one at a time, beating between each egg. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Slowly add the flour, while the mixer is beating on low speed, beating until the flour is well incorporated.
  • Use a rubber spatula to scoop the dough into a spritz cookie press, fitted with your desired disk.
  • Press the dough out through the cookie press onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Top the cookie dough with sprinkled if desired.
  • Bake the cookies for 5 to 8 minutes, until they are barely golden around the edges.
  • Cool the cookies completely.
  • Top them with your choice of icing or glaze, if desired.
