Marinara Sauce

A little cheese with your favorite pizza toppings stuffed into premade frozen rolls for a simple stuffed pizza roll, what could be easier?! Add your own marinara sauce.

Ingredients

For the Stuffed Pizza Rolls

  • 10 Frozen Rolls
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.
  • 1 TBS melted butter
  • 1 TBS grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 pound cooked Italian sausage (or mini pepperonis)

For the Marinara Sauce

  • 1 14.5 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 TBS garlic (minced)
  • 1 TBS Italian seasonings
  • 1/4 tsp onion salt
  • 1 1/2 TBS sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt

Instructions

For the Stuffed Pizza Rolls

  • Allow rolls to thaw for about 2 hours. 
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
  • Spread rolls using your fingers and place about 1 TBS of cheese, and desired topping onto each roll. 
  • Wrap the dough around the toppings and pinch the ball to seal it shut. Place it seam side down into a 9x13 pan. 
  • Brush the tops of the dough balls with melted butter and sprinkle the top with Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese. 
  • Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top. 

For the Marinara Sauce

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium sized sauce pan over medium low heat. Cook for at least 10 minutes, up to 30 minutes, simmering and stirring occasionally.
  • Serve with cooked rolls.
