Peanut butter cup rice krispie treats are a perfect easy and delicious treat. With a peanut butter marshmallow krispie treat base, topped with a chocolate peanut butter ganache and chopped peanut butter cups!
I am obsessed with making different versions of rice krispie treats, brainstorming different flavor combinations that I could try out all the time. This time I made rice krispie treats inspired by one of my favorite candy bars again and it was a huge success!
If you love peanut butter cups, or peanut butter and chocolate you will love these sweet peanut butter cup rice krispie treats. These treats have a peanut butter marshmallow base, they are still rice krispie treats after all (but you could totally make the peanut butter scotcheroo base with corn syrup instead of marshmallows if you prefer), topped with a chocolate peanut butter ganache and then chopped up peanut butter cups, for good measure.
These bars definitely are sweet and rich, but they sure are delicious! They’re the perfect no bake treat, when you are craving something sweet, or to wow your friends.
Simple peanut butter chocolatey goodness.

Mine crumbly falling apart will they stick better after refrigerating

Did you push them down nicely in the pan and then let them set for a couple hours? You could put them in the fridge for a couple hours to set the chocolate quicker, but they should be enjoyed at room temperature. The chocolate on top should help hold the Rice Krispie treats together. A little cereal will crumble off when you cut them, but shouldn’t be too much.

What kind of peanut butter do you use? Natural with no sweeteners, or the sweetened kind? Thanks!
Aimee says
Just something regular (not natural) like Skippy or Jif, creamy.

Just made this recipe. I suggest letting the chocolate cool a while before adding Reese’s. Mine melted instead of sitting on top like shown in photo.

Dang it! Sorry that it melted the pb cups for you! I usually chop up the pb cups after the chocolate is poured, so it must cool enough in that time, I’ve never had that issue. I’ll add that to the recipe

I love your peanut butter chocolate spin on a classic! And I appreciate that they’re rich. That way I’ll eat one or two and not the entire batch! This recipe is totally calling my name!
