By now you should know that I love smoothies. I love them for a quick breakfast, snack, light lunch, or even for dessert. This spinach banana smoothie is the perfect healthier option, although not low in calories its filling, and delicious and can be perfect for almost any meal!
I added spinach to my peanut butter banana smoothie to make it green, but you could include any of your favorite leafy greens instead, or in addition. This smoothie would also be great with kale, lettuce, or collard greens, or try adding a small spoonful of spirulina powder too.
My trick to green smoothies is adding banana, the flavor of the banana is strong enough that you can’t noticeably taste any of the green leaves at all. This smoothie has the perfect balance of banana and peanut butter! Its got a light sweetness, but you can add a dash of honey if you want or use vanilla yogurt instead of plain greek yogurt to add a little sweetness to the mix.
Adding spinach to this smoothie makes it so good for you by adding protein, fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin K, calcium, iron and more. Kale is very similar to spinach, with a little more protein, vitamin C, vitamin A, but also more calories 🙂 Its up to you!
