These chocolate peanut butter marbled cookies combine both a chocolate cookie dough, and a peanut butter cookie dough, swirled together into one cookie.
These cookies are a hybrid cookie made with both a chocolate cookie dough, and a peanut butter dough, of course both loaded with chocolate chips. They’re soft, and chewy, and the perfect cookie for peanut butter and chocolate lovers.
This recipe contains my go to cookie dough base for chocolate cookies, and for peanut butter cookies. The recipes are cut in half so you don’t end up with too many cookies, but can you ever really have too many cookies?
The cookies have the perfect chewy centers, crispy edges, and are the perfect flavor combination of chocolate and peanut butter. And who can say no to chocolate with peanut butter?!
They’re rich cookies, so don’t forget to serve them with a glass of milk. This recipe is originally inspired by this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction.

- Packed full of chocolate chips
Ingredients Needed:
- butter – gives the cookies the best flavor and texture
- brown sugar – gives the cookies sweetness and a nice chewy texture
- granulated sugar – a little more for sweetness
- eggs – to hold the dough together
- peanut butter – to give the peanut butter batter it’s great flavor

How to make Chocolate Peanut Butter Marbled Cookies?
First you’ll make both of the cookie doughs, the recipes are pretty standard cookie dough recipes. Let’s start with the chocolate dough.
Mix together the butter and sugars in a large bowl until you have a nice and fluffy mixture. I like to mix it in the bowl of a stand mixer, or use a hand mixer. Then add in the egg, and vanilla extract and stir it all together.
Add in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt and stir it all together until you have a nice soft cookie dough.
Fold in the chocolate chips and cover the dough and place it in the fridge to chill for a bit.
Next we’ll make the peanut butter cookie dough. Cream butter, peanut butter, and both sugars until combined. Then add in the egg, and vanilla extract and stir them into the mixture.
Add in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt and stir it together. Then fold in the chocolate chips. Cover this dough to refrigerate for about 30 minutes as well.
Take 1 TBS of both the chocolate cookie dough and the peanut butter mixture and squish them together. Then roll them together into a smooth ball, you can squish them a bit more to give them the marble effects.
Place the cookie dough balls onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, a couple inches apart from each other.
Bake the cookies in a preheated oven until the edges are set and the centers are almost. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cookies cool on their for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
Tips and Tricks:
- The peanut butter cookie dough is softer than the chocolate cookie dough, but don’t worry they bake up together great!
- To make the cookies picture perfect, add a few extra chocolate chips to the top of the cookies right after removing them from the oven to make your finished product extra pretty.
- Add some peanut butter chips in addition to the chocolate chips for an extra peanut butter flavor.
How to store?
Store any leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3 to 4 days.
The cookies can also be frozen once they are completely cooled. Place them in a freezer safe container and freeze them for up to 3 months. You’ll thank your future self later, when that sweet tooth craving strikes next time and you already have cookies ready to go for the perfect delicious treat.
These peanut butter chocolate marble cookies are one of my favorite cookies. I can’t say no to chocolate peanut butter cookies, and I think you’ll love them too!

Audrey says
I wish I could have liked these. I really do. But on top of being incredibly oily, they came out tasting so….blah. I mean, a half cup peanut butter and a half cup oil to 1.25 c flour? At least my hands were nice and moisturized by the time I was done rolling the oily cookies…..
Aimee Berrett says
Sorry they didn’t turn out for you Audrey. 🙁
Theresa says
Oil? I didn’t see oil in this recipe…
I just made these and they were a hit. ☺️
Aimee says
We updated the recipe to only include butter in the base. So glad you liked them!
Marisa says
I’m making these right now, but the dough looks super liquidy (before refrigerating). Should they be this sticky?
aimeeberrett says
Sorry, Marisa your comment just came through! The dough is fairly sticky. You can try mixing in a little extra flour, but I’ve added only a couple tbs to 1/4 cup extra and it made my dough super crumbly. So I would just recommend rinsing your hands every few balls you make and spraying your hands with pam as you go! Good luck!
