Ingredients Needed
This is a quick overview of the ingredients you’ll need for this Orange Creamsicle Fudge Recipe. Specific measurements and full recipe instructions are in the printable recipe card below.
- Granulated Sugar – Gets cooked to form the base of the fudge
- Unsalted Butter – Adds a richness to the fudge
- Evaporated Milk – This is perfect for fudge because it is easy to cook without risks of curdling.
- White Baking Chips – Use a high quality chip like Ghirardelli.
- Marshmallow Fluff – Also called Marshmallow Creme
- Vanilla Extract Adds an extra vanilla flavor to the fudge.
- Orange Extract – The orange extract gives the perfect orange flavor.
- Orange Gel Food Coloring – Gives the fudge a nice and bright color
How to Make Creamsicle Fudge?
Step 1: Cook the fudge mixture. Add the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and evaporated milk to a large sauce pan and cook it over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil (this means the bubbles are coming up from the middle of the mixture, not just the edges). Once it is boiling, let it boil for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Let the fudge cook until a candy thermometer reaches 234 F. If it hits that temperature early, remove it from the heat.
Step 2: Str in the white chips and marshmallow. Add the marshmallow fluff and vanilla chips to the pot and stir it together until combined. Stir in the vanilla extract. Scoop 2 cups of the mixture and set it aside.
Step 3: Make the Orange Fudge. Stir the orange extract, and orange food coloring into the remaining fudge in the pot.
Step 4: Swirl the Fudge. Add spoonfuls of each type of fudge, alternating orange then vanilla fudge. Then swirl together with a knife to make a marble effect. Let the fudge chill until set. Then slice and enjoy.
Tips and Tricks:
- Make a Thicker Fudge: For thicker pieces of fudge you can use a smaller pan. You can use a 7×11, or 9×11, or 9x9inch pan instead.
- Swirl Delicately: We want the fudge colors to swirl together nicely, and don’t want the orange color overtaking the white. Use a toothpick or knife to gently and carefully swirl the fudge together.
Storage Instructions
Once cooled the fudge can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. The fudge can also be frozen, by freezing in a single layer, then transfer to a freezer safe bag and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge before enjoying.
You can let the fudge warm up for a few minutes at room temperature before enjoying, or enjoy it cold straight from the fridge.
This Orange Creamsicle Fudge is a little bite of sunshine, especially in the cold winter. It’s perfect for filling up your dessert trays, or to satisfy your sweet tooth! Give it a try, and let me know how it goes!
