This Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge is an irresistible creamy and delicious fudge. It’s the perfect combination of chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge, and a delicious treat that everyone will love!
What dessert or treat do you have to have for Christmas every year? For me, my dad’s almost famous homemade toffee reminds me of Christmas so much. Every year growing up we would go Christmas caroling to friends and family, while sharing with them his delicious and crunchy buttery toffee. My dad has simply perfected toffee making. It’s taken him years to get the recipe just right.
It’s always been so intimidating to me to attempt to make his toffee recipe. There are so many variables that can change the recipe, from the pot, to the candy thermometer, to the altitude. Another recipe that has always intimidated me is making fudge. I never grew up with my mom making fudge because she was also nervous it wouldn’t turn out.
Fudge can be hard to get right, it might be overcooked, or too grainy, or won’t set, or who knows what other problems you could have. But this chocolate peanut butter fudge is easy to make, and with only a few minutes of work you’ve got creamy, delicious layered chocolate peanut butter fudge.
Until recently, I had only made microwave fudge, but this recipe on Bakerella looked way too good to pass up. And it was the perfect treat for sharing with our new neighbors.
Although this peanut butter fudge isn’t made in the microwave like some of my other favorite fudge recipes, it is still super easy. It’s made on the stove top, and only takes a few minutes to cook for each layer. This fudge recipe doesn’t even require a candy thermometer.
How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge?
This chocolate peanut butter fudge is made on the stove top. You’ll make one layer at a time, starting with the chocolate layer on the bottom. The chocolate layer is made by cooking white sugar, butter, and evaporated milk on the stove top. After that is all cooked you’ll stir in the chocolate chips to let them melt, and then fold in the marshmallow creme and vanilla extract.
The peanut butter layer is made in the same way but instead of chocolate chips it is made with creamy peanut butter. This makes the peanut butter layer a little softer than the chocolate layer, but the fudge should still set without any issues.
The peanut butter layer is poured on top of the chocolate layer in a 13×9 pan and spread till smooth on top. Then you’ll let the fudge sit for several hours till totally set, or you can let it set in the fridge in a couple hours instead, if desired.
This chocolate peanut butter fudge is the perfect holiday treat. Your friends and neighbors will be super grateful if you share a few pieces with them on a treat plate.
