Ingredients Needed to make Peanut Butter Popcorn:
- popped popcorn
- granulated sugar
- honey
- corn syrup
- peanut butter
- vanilla extract
How to make peanut butter popcorn?
Pop your popcorn on the stove top, microwave, or in an air popper. You can even use microwave popcorn from the store if that’s what you have – I recommend using a popcorn that is lightly salted, so it’s not too buttery or powerful of a flavor to go with the peanut butter mixture.
Add the sugar, honey, and corn syrup to a pot and heat it over medium heat on the stove, stirring it all together. Bring the mixture to a boil and then let it roll at a hard boil for 2 minutes, stirring the whole time to keep it from burning on the bottom.
Remove the pot from the heat and add in the peanut butter, and vanilla extract and stir it all together until it’s incorporated.
Spread the mixture out onto a couple cookie sheets lined with waxed paper and let it cool slightly before enjoying.
Tips for making Peanut Butter Popcorn:
- Substitute some salty crunchy pretzels for some of the popcorn, you can substitute it on a 1 to 1 cup by cup basis. I like to add about 2-3 cups of pretzels, and take out the same amount of popcorn.
- After mixing the popcorn I also love adding in some Reese’s Pieces, chopped up Peanut Butter Cups, M&Ms, or other candy bar pieces!
- You can also add in some peanuts for a crunch.
- You can substitute all honey or all corn syrup for the combination of half of each in this recipe.
This peanut butter popcorn is the perfect chewy sticky treat. Peanut butter lovers will go crazy for this delicious popcorn. It’s sweet, peanut buttery and so delicious.
