Pin these turtle rice krispie treats for later!
A traditional turtle candy has a caramel mixture mixed with salty pecans all covered in chocolate. These rice krispie treats have the same great flavors, with a tasty and gooey marshmallow rice krispie layer too.
These turtle rice krispie treats start out with a traditional gooey marshmallow rice krispie treat later. Top that with a layer of melted caramel, that soaks into the rice krispie treats to make the whole bar a gooey caramelly treat. Then you’ll spread melted chocolate over the top and sprinkle it all over with chopped pecans.
Grab everything you need to make these amazing bars from your local Target! For these you need Kellogg’s Rice Krispies, butter, mini marshmallows, soft caramels, heavy cream, chocolate chips and chopped pecans!
These bars are one of my new favorite treats and I can’t wait to make batch after batch for the holidays. They are the perfect treat to share with friends, family and neighbors! And they’re great to make together as a family, even my two year old loves helping me stir and mix the ingredients together and sprinkle the nuts on top.

Would a jar of carmel sauce?
Aimee Berrett says
That will be thinner than the melted caramels, so it will ooze out the sides more, but should still be tasty!
Jane shelt says
How long do they stay fresh and can they be frozen
Vikki says
At which point do we add the milk?
Aimee Berrett says
Vikki, there isn’t any milk in these rice krispie treats, are you asking when to add the heavy cream?
shannon says
I agree the recipe calls for 2 cups of milk
Aimee Berrett says
Sorry its confusing, it must be splitting the ingredients into 2 lines on your phone screen? But then it probably also says 5 1/2 cups rice 😉 I updated the recipe just to say chocolate chips, so hopefully that fixes the problem.
Shari says
@Vikki… very confusing 2 cups of milk chocolate chips is written across 2 lines so it looks like there is both 2 cups of milk & chocolate chips!
Aimee Berrett says
So weird, it doesnt look like that on my phone or tablet! I updated it to say “chocolate chips” instead of “milk chocolate chips” so although its probably still splitting it, hopefully that fixes the confusion!
Denise says
Oh my goodness! My mom would love this but I’m afraid I’d eat it all before it even gets to her! [client]

About how many does this recipe make? They look delish and has solved my dilema of what to bring to a cookie swap. Thanks in advance!
Aimee Berrett says
You can cut them smaller since they are very rich. I usually cut about 20-24 from the pan

I love this flavor combo!! I just happen to have a bag of caramels and box of Rice Krispies that need to be used. This look like the perfect solution 🙂
Aimee Berrett says
Thank you so much! Definitely the perfect way to use your caramels and rice krispie cereal!

These look absolutely scrumptious! They would be so cute all packaged up as gifts as well! Great recipe!
