Favorite cookies of chocolate chip and chocolate swirled together for the best cookie and a pretty design too.
I loved theseΒ chocolate and peanut butter swirl cookiesΒ so much that when I was asked to bring cookies to a blogger picnic in the park, I knew that I needed to make another type of “swirl cookies”. Because I loved the swirled light and dark look, as one of the girls at the blogger picnic called them ying yang cookies, I knew I needed to stick with the chocolate cookie dough, and some other light colored cookie, so I went with the classic chocolate chip cookie recipe.
This time I had butter, so I went back to Sally’s classic swirl cookie recipe that was my first cookies inspiration, but combined it with my previous made swirl cookie and created a chocolate chip cookie dough that matched.Β
I have to say that the butterΒ definitelyΒ gave the cookies a better flavor, however it made my cookies a little more flat than my previous cookies with oil. So, this recipe calls for butter, but like the first it can be made with canola oil as well, if you prefer thicker cookies, or just have oil at home and no butter.
And for this recipe I used the delicious King Arthur Flour. I’m usually one to go and get the cheapest flour, so I was excited to give King Arthur Flour a try and see if it was really any better. I can’t compare this exact recipe with King Arthur Flour to another recipe with generic brand flour, but I can tell you that these cookies were delicious.
King Arthur Flour all purpose flour call be used for anything you want to bake, cookies, cupcakes, pastries, bread and more. And they also offer whole wheat flour, bread flour (which I definitely want to try!), cake flour and even gluten free flour! Their flour is totally great quality and worth the extra cents to buy it. So check them out next time you’re at your local grocery store. (Here in Utah KAF can be found at Harmon’s, Day’s, Ridley’s, Walmart, Reams, and Smith’s)
Another great thing about KAF is that they have a whole slew of delicious recipes on their website. I have been following them on instagram for a little while now and every day I drool a little bit over their amazing looking food items! And one of the best things I learned about them is that you can call their baking hotline or live chat recipes with someone when you need advice on baking, talk about customer service!
*I received a coupon for one bag of King Arthur Flour as part of my participation in the April Showers Bring May Flours Giveaway that was earlier this month. I was not otherwise compensated. All opinions are my own.

Haha, thank you! Lots of practice with rolling them together in smooth balls, and then I added a couple extra chocolate chips to the tops for decoration! I’m glad you like them though!

aimeeberrett says
Oh Sally, you have no idea how much that means to me coming from you – thank you! They are becoming my favorite as well!
Sabrina says
The dough for these cookies looks really oily before it bakes. We thought there were too many chocolate chips as written. I guess that is just preference. We reduced the chocolate chips quite a bit. The cookies did get eaten all up . Enjoy.
aimeeberrett says
Yeah, the dough is a little oily, but the cookies don’t bake oily at all so that’s good. I’m glad you were able to adjust the recipe a little to your family’s liking π
