These no bake monster cookie granola bites are a delicious treat with the same great taste of monster cookies, with no flour, eggs, or added white sugar. They’re perfect for a quick healthier snack when you need something sweet!
These peanut butter granola bites are the perfect grab and go snack. They’re packed with oats, and peanut butter and are a perfect protein filled snack.
These monster cookie granola bar bites are one of our favorite healthier snacks because they satisfy your sweet tooth. They have no eggs, no flour, and no added white sugar (skip the m&ms and chocolate chips if you don’t want any sugar). They’re much healthier than grabbing a cookie for a sweet treat.
I love having a healthier snack ready in the afternoon when my younger kids wake up from their nap and my oldest gets home from school. These monster cookie granola bites are perfect for that, because I like them, and my kids like them!
These are the perfect post work out snack too. I’ve been getting back into exercising slowly after having Rosie. I’ve been running on our treadmill again, and doing high fitness once a week. I love grabbing one or two of these when I’m done for that perfect little burst of energy.
They only take a few minutes to make, so I like making them first thing in the morning, then throwing them in the fridge to get nice and cold. Then they’re ready to eat in the afternoon, or when we’re heading out the door to run some errands.
How to make no bake monster cookie granola bites?
These monster granola bites are so easy to make! You’ll throw all the ingredients into a large bowl, and stir them together till you have a nice sticky mixture. You just need oats, peanut butter, honey, mini m&ms and mini chocolate chips. (Like I said before, if you want them even healthier you can leave the chocolate pieces out).
You’ll want to wet your hands with cold water, or spray them with cooking spray cause the mixture is pretty sticky. Then you’ll roll it up into small 1 to 1 1/2 inch sized balls. You’ll want to wash your hands after every few as the mixture starts to stick to your hands and fingers more.
Place them onto a baking pan lined with a silicone liner, or parchment, as you make them. Then place the pan in the fridge to let the balls harden and set a bit. This should only take an hour or two, then they are ready to enjoy!
How long do granola bites last?
These stay good in the fridge for about a week. And they’re also great to freeze if we’re not going to eat them all at once. They should stay good in the freezer for 4-6 months. You can eat them straight from the freezer, or let them thaw for a couple hours in the fridge.
You’ll want to store them in an airtight container, a ziplock bag or pyrex should work great!
I got the idea for these bites from my friend Maegan over at The Baker Mama, but altered my no bake granola bar bites for the recipe and they turned out great!
These energy balls are so good, the trick is going to be controlling myself to just eat one or two when I have a sweet craving and need a little energy.

I made these with 2/3 cup of chocolate chips instead of both chocolate chips and M&M’s, and they were delicious! Thank you for a giving me a healthy way to curb that sweet tooth! 😉
Aimee Berrett says
So glad you like them Sierra! Aren’t they the perfect little snack/treat?!
Dee says
How long are these good for if kept refrigerated?
Thank you!!
Aimee Berrett says
They only make about 20 or so, so we’ve never had them around more than a few days or a week, so I’m not sure if they’d last longer than that
Jessica Baxter says
Based on the ingredients they should last for quite some time. Not really anything that would spoil…
Aimee Berrett says
Yeah, I think they should, I’m not sure if they’d start to dry out a bit, but nothing should spoil for quite a while like you said.
Chris says
Is there a link to print this recipe?
Aimee Berrett says
There should be a link within the recipe box where the recipe is. On my phone and computer it is under the small photo there.
Chris says
Thank you!! I didn’t see it on my phone screen. I can’t wait to try these. 😊
Aimee Berrett says
No problem! Hope you like them!
Charissa Blackburn says
I love this. What variation can I do for valentine’s day? I considered “red eyed monster cookie” mixing edible eyes and red hots candies. Thoughts??
Aimee Berrett says
That would be fun! I’m not sure how the red hots would taste with the peanut butter flavor, but it could be worth trying? If not you can definitely find valentines m&ms that would work!
Jackie says
M&M makes red, pink and white candy that would work for Valentine’s day.
Aimee Berrett says
Thats a great idea for Valentine’s day!
Crystal says
You could also add in red and pink heart sprinkles for Valentine’s day.
Aimee says
That’s such a cute idea Crystal!

I was endlessly looking around for a snack that could curb my constant sweet cravings and happened to came across this amazing recipe! Looking at the ingredients and the instructions, I was mind-blown to see how easy and simple this recipe was. I have always find myself going for an unhealthy snack after my workouts and end up devouring it towards the end. This recipe definitely seems like a healthier alternative and could probably satisfy my sweet tooth. I will certainly try out this recipe and hopefully won’t binge on them 😉
Aimee Berrett says
Hope these will work for you to curb your sugar craving! They are the perfect healthier treat as long as you can limit yourself to one or two 😉
Angela says
M & M’s are refined sugar…
Aimee Berrett says
You’re right. You are more than welcome to leave them out. You should be able to find sugar free chocolate chips you can use instead.
megunprocessed says
This looks fun and creative!
Ruth Daley says
I can’t eat honey- do you think pure maple syrup would work?
Aimee Berrett says
It may have a stronger flavor, but I think it should work and will still be delicious!
Michelle says
I have used agave instead of honey.
Ora says
I can’t have peanut butter. Do you have any suggestions on what i could use instead of peanut butter?
Aimee Berrett says
Hi Ora, I don’t know if you can have any nut butters, you can sub any of those – otherwise you can use something like sunbutter as a substitute!
Michelle says
You can use Sun butter in place of peanut butter
May says
how long should you let these set in the fridge after putting them on the tray?
Ellen Garrett says
I usually let things like this set minimum of 30 minutes
Jackie says
Since when are M&Ms sugar free?
Aimee Berrett says
Jackie, m&ms aren’t sugar free, though you can substitute sugar free chocolate chips if you want! I didn’t say the recipe was sugar free as there are sugars in everything (honey included!) but I said it was free of added white sugars, so compared to traditional monster cookies its a healthier treat 🙂
Emily says
Hi Aimee,
Sorry for the confusion! What do you do here after the parchment paper?
Thank you again!!!
Maria says
Give or take a few calories… It is about 2135 calories for the whole recipe… If you get 24 out of the recipe it will be about 89 calories per… Hope that helps…
Aimee Berrett says
Perfect, thanks Maria!
lisagran says
Do you know how many calories are in these? I tried them and they are great, just wondering how they fair as far as being “healthy”!
Aimee Berrett says
Lisa, I’m not sure how many calories each would be. It depends how big/small you make each of them. I’d plug the numbers into a program like myfitnesspal for the total and divide it by how many balls you end up making. Sorry I dont know for sure, I just dont want to give the wrong information!
Catherine Wood says
Could I exchange the peanut butter for something else? Also can they be frozen?
Aimee Berrett says
You should be able to use any nut butters, almond butter, sun butter, or a no nut butter like wow butter. I’m not sure if they can be frozen. The recipe doesn’t make a ton so I’ve never have them last more than a few days. Let me know if you try them!
Bri says
i would think the oats have a weird texture since they are not cooked. Am I wrong?
Aimee Berrett says
They soften up a bit with the honey and peanut butter. I dont think they are weird at all.
Jessica says
You could use quick oats & heat the PB & honey 1 min, stir, then add in the oats. Let cool a little, then add the chocolate. That’s how I make my granola bars. I’ve been making the monster cookie bars (with and without flour), but never thought of adding the M&Ms to my granola bars. Sounds yummy!
Dana says
My daughter has a dairy allergy and she doesn’t get to eat much in the way of standard granola bars. I used a dairy free chocolate chip and skipped the M&Ms and she loves them. I can see adding sun flower nuts too with a little extra peanut butter and honey. Thanks for sharing.
Aimee Berrett says
So glad you/she liked them Dana! It can be so hard with different food allergies, so I’m glad you made it work for your daughter! It sounds great with sun flower seeds too!
Amanda says
how long in the refrigerator?
Aimee Berrett says
I think they should last about a week in the fridge, I’ve never had them make it that long we always gobble them up too quick 🙂
Becky says
I also add ground flax seeds in mine and a little cinnamon.
Realfood says
These are great to refuel however, the title is a little misleading. There is a lot of refined sugar in m&m and depending what chocolate chips you use there could be a lot of chemicals and refined sugar in those. Maybe think about just dark chocolate chips or making your own chocolate chips with 100% maple syrup to make the whole thing refine sugar free. Gray idea though
Aimee Berrett says
Tina! Thanks! For me as a person who is seriously close to being addicted to sweets these are a great solution because they satisfy my sweet tooth but are a lot better than eating a cookie or two 😉 I bet they would be great with homemade chocolate chips and I love making my own peanut butter too
Marsha Collins says
Be careful with peanut butter. I am a diabetic who thought peanut butter was better, but it is full of sugar. Also starches are worse than sugar according to my doctor.
Aimee Berrett says
You’re right Marsha, I like making my own peanut butter as well – but also checking the brands I get to see that they don’t have any sugar added as an ingredient.
Jenn says
How many balls does one recipe make? Trying to calculate macros! Thank you!
Aimee Berrett says
It depends how big you make them. I think I made about 20.
Natalie says
These were super good and easy to throw together! My husband, daughter and I all loved them. I’m doubling the recipe next time. Thanks for sharing!
Aimee Berrett says
So glad you liked them! I think I need to double the recipe next time I make them too!
Meagan Tang says
How many calories is each one? They look awesome!
Anita says
What kind of oats did you use?
Aimee Berrett says
I used old fashioned rolled oats, but quick oats would work too.
Jessica @ A Kitchen Addiction says
These look like a great way to refuel after a workout!
