Reindeer Oreo Balls are such a cute and fun Christmas treat. Oreo truffles dipped in chocolate and made to look like Reindeer!
Oreo balls are the perfect Christmas treat because they only require 3 ingredient, along with being very simple no bake treats that anyone can make! They’re perfect for you to make for a Christmas party that you’re holding or attending. Or great to package up and take to your neighbors as a holiday gift.
Another great thing about Oreo balls is that they are so simple to dress up and make cute. This time I decided to make some of my oreo truffles into reindeer by adding just a couple ingredients for decoration.
The possibilities are endless, especially for the holidays. You could make them into cute reindeer like these, or into Christmas ornaments, or snowmen, or Santa Claus. Or you can just top them with your favorite red, white and green Christmassy sprinkles.
How to make Oreo Cookie Balls?
All you need to make Oreo balls is Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and chocolate. You’ll blend up the Oreo cookies into a fine crumb and mix it with cream cheese. It becomes a soft dough, that kind of has the texture of cookie dough. You will roll the mixture into little balls and dip into chocolate.
To make these reindeer Oreo balls, you’ll also need pretzels, candy eyes, and some colored chocolate candies. You could use sixlets, m&ms, or any other chocolate candies that you can find. I like making some of the Reindeer with brown and black noses, and a few of them with red Rudolph noses as well.
After you make the balls and dip them in chocolate you’ll press the two candy eyes into the front of the ball. Add a red, or black, or brown chocolate candy below the eyes for the reindeer’s nose.
You’ll want to do this when the chocolate is still soft so that the eyes and chocolate pieces will stick to the chocolate. I usually work on each truffle one at a time, so dip them in chocolate, then decorate them with their face and antlers. Then do the next truffle.
Instead of trying to dip them all in chocolate and then decorate them all. If you try doing that the chocolate will set before you get the faces on and you’ll have to add chocolate to the back of the eyes and noses to get them to stick
After the eyes and noses are added, then you’ll stick the pretzel antlers in the sides. The pretzels are broken in half for this. You can use the pretzels perfectly broken down the middle or take some parts off the top. It’s okay if they don’t all look the same. It adds character to the reindeer, because real reindeer don’t all have the same antlers, right?
You’ll push the pretzels through the chocolate a little bit, because since they are a little heavier you’ll need to get them into the truffle balls for extra support.
The great thing about these tasty Oreo balls, is you can customize them to your favorite flavors. You can use any flavor of Oreo to fill the cookies, I have used regular Oreos, like used in these, golden oreos, mint oreos, peanut butter oreos, red velvet, gingerbread, or any of your favorite Oreo cookie flavors.
These Reindeer Oreo balls are the best Christmas holiday treat! They’re so easy and fun to make! And so tasty to eat! They’re the perfect treat to share and everyone will love how cute these little Reindeer treats are!

Becky says
Hi i bleanding the cookies and cream cheese and it’s too soft to roll into balls. Any tips for me? Thanks!!
Aimee says
Sometimes I have to stick the mixture in the fridge for about 30 minutes, before rolling them into balls, so you could try that! But it is always a little messy and sticky when rolling the balls. Hope that works for you!

Philadlphia brand cream cheese is best. Seems to me that generic cream cheese is a little watery.
Aimee says
Their brand is my favorite too!

These are SO cute!!
Jessica says
If I wanted to make only 12 balls instead of 48, what would you use for the cream cheese measurement?
Aimee says
I’d use 2 oz then since that is 1/4 of the total, but I’m not sure if that will blend up as well or not.
Julia says
HI, Do I need to remove the cream between the orea cookies before crushing them?
Thank you
Aimee says
Nope, you don’t need to remove th cream. Blend up the whole cookie then add the cream cheese. 🙂

What a fun treat! Pinned!

How do you transport these? I have to drive three hours to my fiance’s parents house and I don’t want them to melt or role over and break.
Aimee Berrett says
Hi sarah, it will take longer, but I would let them set on the counter top instead of in the fridge then the chocolate shouldn’t melt being in the car. Secondly, I’d just try to pack themeeting close together in a baking pan so they don’t have room to roll around when you are driving
Lauren says
Having trouble with the dipping in chocolate part. It coats to thick and doesn’t come out smooth looking. Mine do not look very edible yet.
Aimee Berrett says
Is your chocolate melted completely? It should be totally smooth when melted. I sometimes add a tsp or so of oil (coconut or vegetable work great) to thin it out, so you could try that.

These are cute and fun to make. We use minature chocolate chips for the nose and white chocolate for the eyes and put a small dot of black icing I bought in a tube for Halloween.A lot of things were tasted while making them.
Aimee Berrett says
So glad you made it work for you with the chocolate chips instead of the other candies. I bet they looked so cute!
Sue says
Thanks I’m gonna make some for my grandson.
Sue says
I love this can you tell me what sixlets are I’m know to tha baking ,
Aimee Berrett says
Sixlets are a type of chocolate candy. You could use any colored chocolate candy.
Robin says
Hi Aimee, Do these have to be refrigerated until ready to eat? CAN these be made 1 day ahead ? I know this is a 2014 post but they are amazingly cut. Thank you
Aimee Berrett says
Thanks Robin, I think they will stay better in the fridge since there is cream cheese in the middle, and that way the chocolate outside will keep its shape better, but they can definitely be removed from the fridge an hour or two before you want to eat them without any issues. And yes make them a day or two ahead, thats no problem! I’ve had oreo cookie balls in my fridge for almost a week (if they last that long) Let me know how it goes!

These are adorable! Do you know where I can buy candy eyes? I’ve never seen them in a store.

Debbie, I got them in the baking aisle of my local grocery store, near the sprinkles. I have seen them in the baking section of craft stores like Hobby Lobby too.
