I’ve been making energy balls for several years because they are the perfect grab and go snack or breakfast.
These peanut butter banana energy bites are such a yummy new flavor, with the merging of creamy peanut butter, oats, and bananas. It’s the perfect flavor combination of a peanut butter oatmeal cookie mixed with banana bread.
I mean, I think peanut butter and banana and chocolate is always a winning combination! Just try my chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie and I think you’ll agree.
These bite sized treats are made with lighter ingredients that are bursting with flavors, and also a great way to get energy thanks to the oats and peanut butter.
You could also add in some other protein packed ingredients to make these extra good for you. Try adding in 1-2 TBS of these ingredients to make these bites even more filling!

- flaxseed
- shredded coconut
These tasty energy bites are so easy to make. Just like my monster granola bites, it only takes a few minutes to mix everything together!
How to make Peanut Butter Banana Energy Bites?
These peanut butter banana energy bites couldn’t be any easier to make. All you need to make them is oats, a ripe banana, creamy peanut butter, honey, and chocolate chips.
You will smash up the banana like you would for banana bread and then mix everything together in a big bowl till you’ve got a nice soft mixture. You’ll let the mixture set in the fridge to harden for about 30 minutes and then roll it all up into little bite sized balls.
The balls can be eaten right away, or stored in the fridge for another 30 minutes or so until they are set even more.
How long can you store energy balls?
These energy balls should be kept in the fridge, in an airtight container like a ziplock bag or a pyrex container. They can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 week.
How to freeze energy balls?
The peanut butter banana energy balls can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper for about 1 hour until they are frozen solid throughout, then transfer them to an airtight container. (This way they won’t stick to each other).
Place the bag in the freezer for up to 3 months. When you are ready to eat some they can be thawed in the fridge overnight and enjoyed the next day for a perfect snack or breakfast.

Peanut Butter Banana Energy Bites
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana (1/3 cup mashed)
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 3/4 cups oats
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Peel banana, and smash it with a fork till soft.
- Add peanut butter, honey, oats and chocolate chips to the banana and stir everything together.
- Cover and place bowl in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Roll mixture into small tablespoon sized balls.
- Enjoy immediately, or store in the fridge.
- Place on a baking sheet and place back in the fridge for another 30 minutes. Then into a bag to store.
