This is a quick overview of the ingredients you’ll need for this White Chocolate Peppermint Fudge Recipe. Specific measurements and full recipe instructions are in the printable recipe card below.
- white chocolate chips – use a high quality white baking chips, or white chocolate bar chopped into pieces
- sweetened condensed milk – gives the fudge a rich flavor, and creamy texture
- butter – helps smooth everything out, you can use salted or unsalted butter
- peppermint extract – a little goes a long way, but add extra if you like it extra minty.

How to make Peppermint White Chocolate Fudge
Step 1: Melt the ingredients. Add the white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter to a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 20 second increments, stirring after each until you can stir the mixture smooth. Once melted stir in the peppermint extract.
Step 2: Press the mixture into a pan. Scoop the fudge mixture into a lined 9×9 baking pan. Smooth the top out with a rubber spatula. Sprinkle crushed candy cane pieces over the top of the fudge, and press into the fudge. Allow the fudge to sit at room temperature for several hours, or put in the fridge to set faster.
Tips and Tricks:
- Don’t Overheat the White Chocolate – When chocolate is overheated it can seize up, meaning it will actually get harder instead of softer. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring as much as you can after each so it doesn’t get more heated than it needs.
- Use Parchment Paper – Line the pan with parchment paper so its easier to lift and remove the fudge from the pan. This will help you get cleaner slices, and prettier pieces of fudge.
- Make on the Stove – You can also make the fudge on the stove top. Add the white chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, and butter to a medium stove top and cook over medium low heat until the mixture is totally melted and can be stirred smooth. Remove from the heat and stir in the peppermint extract. Transfer into the baking pan, and top with candy cane pieces.
Storage Instructions
The fudge can be safely stored at room temperature, but it will be a bit softer. I like to store it in the fridge in an airtight container. It can be stored for about 1 week in the fridge. The candy cane pieces will soften some in the fridge, make sure to keep the container dry so the pieces don’t get too gooey.
The fudge can also be frozen in a sealed freezer container for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to enjoy, make sure to thaw the fudge until soft to save your teeth.
This White Chocolate Peppermint Fudge is such a delicious holiday treat! It’s festive, and easy to make which makes it perfect for the busy holiday season!
