Ingredients Needed
This is a quick overview of some of the ingredients you’ll need for this Pepperoni Pizza Dip Recipe. Specific measurements and full recipe instructions are in the printable recipe card below.
- Cream Cheese: Creates the best creamy base for the dip. I like using full fat Cream Cheese, and letting it soften before mixing with the seasonings so its easier to mix.
- Shredded Cheese: We’re using a mix of parmesan, and mozzarella. Lots of mozzarella gives the dip the stretchy, gooey texture we want on our pizza.
- Pizza Sauce: Use your favorite jarred or homemade pizza sauce.
- Pepperoni: Adds a little extra flavor to the dip. You can also top the dip with cooked Italian sausage, or some veggies.
How to make Pizza Dip?
Step 1: Make the Creamy Base. Combine the cream cheese and sour cream until it is smooth and creamy, then mix in your seasonings. Spread it into the bottom of a pie dish or baking pan.
Step 2: Layer the Dip. Spread the pizza sauce over the cream cheese, then sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese, then parmesan cheese. Add the pepperoni over the top of the cheese.
Step 3: Bake the Dip. Bake the dip in the oven until it is hot throughout and the top of the cheese is golden and gooey!
Step 4: Serve. Serve the dip hot from the oven with crusty bread (I like it toasted), pita, bagel chips, breadsticks, pretzels, bell pepper strips, celery, etc.
Tips and Tricks:
- Fresh Shredded Cheese: If you can, shred the mozzarella and parmesan directly from the block so there are no added ingredients and the cheese melts extra smooth and gooey!
- Additional Toppings: Add different toppings like Italian sausage, mushrooms, olives, bell pepper, onions, tomatoes, etc. Just don’t add too many toppings or the dip won’t cook evenly and will be harder to scoop.

Make Ahead and Storage Instructions
The dip is great for making ahead, you can assemble the dip in advance and store it in the fridge for up to 2 days. Bake the dip when you’re ready to serve it, if its been in the fridge it may need a few extra minutes in the oven to heat throughout.
Once the dip is baked you can store it covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave, or more of it in the oven until it is hot throughout again. Cover the top with foil if needed, if the cheese browns too quickly.

This Pepperoni Pizza Dip is such a fun way to enjoy pizza as an appetizer. It’s perfect for parties, and game days served with some crunchy dippers and everyone will love dipping in for a cheesy bite!
