Helpful Tips to Make this Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta:
- Use a rotisserie chicken instead of cooking your own chicken. This is a great cheap, and easy way to save a step. You could enjoy a rotisserie chicken for dinner one night, then use up the leftover chicken with this recipe.
- Use store bought alfredo sauce to save a step. Any alfredo sauce will work, you will need about 15-16oz, or 2 cups of alfredo sauce.
- You can use any small or medium sized pasta noodle. I like rotini, penne, shells, macaroni, etc.
- Add half a block of softened cream cheese to your pasta dish for an extra creamy cheese sauce. Heat the sauce up in a small pot on the stove over medium heat to help mix it all together.
Ingredients Needed:
- Cooked pasta noodles – cook your pasta to al dente for the best texture, especially since it will continue to be cooked as the dish bakes
- Alfredo sauce – a store bought or homemade Alfredo sauce will work for this recipe.
- Salt and black pepper – to add a little flavor to the pasta, taste the sauce as you add them if you don’t want it too salty.
- Ranch Dressing Mix – dry ranch seasoning mix, or ranch dressing powder.
- Shredded chicken – make some fresh juicy chicken for this, or this is a great way to use up some leftover chicken from another meal.
- Cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese – we want this pasta extra cheesy and delicious. Your favorite cheese blends will work well too.
- Bacon – this adds the perfect salty crunch, and flavor to the pasta dish. Bacon is always a good idea.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How to store?
Store any leftover pasta in an airtight container, or in the original baking pan wrapped tightly in plastic wrap in the fridge for up to 4 or 5 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave until warm.
Can this be frozen?
This is a great pasta dish that can be frozen. Make the casserole dish as directed, up until you sprinkle cheese and bacon over the top of the dish. Cover the dish tightly with a layer of plastic wrap, then aluminum foil and freeze.
The dish can be frozen for up to 3 months. Let the dish thaw in the fridge and bake as directed. Or bake the dish covered with foil for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 to 30 minutes until hot throughout.
I like to double the recipe and make two dishes of the casserole, and have one for dinner tonight and freeze one for a busy weeknight later.
What type of noodles can I use?
You can use any preferred medium or short pasta noodle. I like penne pasta, rotini pasta, or bow tie noodles the best.
What to serve with pasta?
I love serving this baked pasta casserole with some garlic bread, a side salad, and some roasted vegetables, or fresh fruit for a complete meal.
Where to find Ranch Seasoning?
You should be able to find Ranch Seasoning at almost any grocery store near other salad dressing bottles. If you can’t find the mix you can make your own with a mix of ingredients like onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, and dill – here’s a good recipe.
There isn’t much better than a delicious pasta dish made with simple ingredients. It’s a great casserole dish with cheese added in and baked up to gooey cheesy pasta perfection, it’s the ultimate comfort food and is a great easy meal that the entire family will love.
To make this yummy easy dinner recipe, you’ll just pour everything into a big bowl together, you’ll add in your noodles, alfredo sauce, ranch dressing packet, chicken, bacon, and cheese. Stir it all up and mix it all together to make those flavors blend together really well.
Then you’ll top it all with extra cheese, and a little more bacon. Top it with some fresh parsley to make it extra pretty, and that’s it, you guys! Can’t beat that for an easy pasta recipe!

I cooked this for my boyfriend and our roommates, and it was a huge hit. I would recommend using more alfredo sauce, but I like my pasta on the saucy side, so it’s totally up to preference!
Miranda says
This was great. My family and I loved it. Everyone had seconds and my 12 year old had 3rds. I did make a couple of small changes. I used a 21.5oz jar of alrfedo (Ragu) and I added about half a cup of milk. We like ours with lots of sauce and I’m glad I did do this because it turned out to be the perfect amount of sauce for us. This is going to be a new favorite I’ll be making often.
Aimee says
I’ll have to try it this way next time! So glad you liked it!
Jen says
I love comfort food and I was so excited to try this recipe. It would have been so good, but it was so dry. I used 16 oz pasta and 16 oz Alfredo as written. I realized as I was mixing it that the pasta didn’t seem to be coated in sauce. After it came out of the oven it was like the Alfredo had disappeared. Also, I love ranch, but next time I will cut back the amount. Way too much sodium using an entire 1oz packet.

This was such an easy recipe to make, I’ve only tasted it before cooking it in the oven and it is SOOOO good! This will be one that I will save and eat again and again! I added garlic powder and some Italian seasoning because I love to use them in most of my dinners. My family is so excited to try it. Thank you!!
Aimee says
So glad you loved it!

JANICE CIRAVOLA says
I made this it was so good -I cut the recipe in half cause it is just me. will make it again
Aimee says
So glad you love it! It also freezes well, if you want to put half in a 8x8inch pan to freeze for another time, that works well 🙂
Jana Clark says
Do you suggest boiling the chicken or pan frying (sautee’) it?
Aimee says
I prefer sauteeing it for the flavor you can get in the crust, and the texture. 🙂
Katrina Thomas says
I am so fond of trying new things and this is a God send.
Megan says
So delicious! This comes together in a snap when you cook the chicken and bacon ahead of time. I didn’t have ranch seasoning, so I used 2/3 cup of ranch, and it turned out AMAZING! Will definitely make again soon!
Aimee says
That sounds delicious. So glad you liked it!
Sarah B says
Fantastic! Made two slight substitutions so that I could make it from everything I had on hand. Used a pizza blend instead of Mozzarella and a ranch dip season packet since I didnt have the regular ranch powder on hand. It made enough to feed 4 adults with plenty of leftovers. They all loved it and my toddler approved as well. All the flavors work really well together without being too powerful and I found it easy to throw together. Adding this into our regular meal rotation!
Aimee says
Im so glad you all liked it!
Sarah says
This was such a simple recipe. The family loved it!
Peggy says

YUMMY! I’m coming to your house for dinner.
Semone Trisvan says
Hi!
I just found this and would like to try it for dinner tonight. I only have a 0.4oz packet of ranch mix, though. Could I use bottled ranch dressing to make up for what I don’t have?
Aimee says
You can definitely add some bottled ranch dressing, maybe Also lower the amount of Alfredo sauce so you don’t have extra sauce and that makes the flavor stronger.
Semone Trisvan says
Thank you, I was delicious! My family loved it😊
Alexus says
Do I make the ranch or just put powder in there??
Aimee says
Just use the ranch mix, dry
Angela Wright says
Should I spray the casserole dish first?
Aimee says
I don’t think I have, but it doesn’t hurt to spray it if you’re worried 🙂
Juliette says
I and my family loved this recipe. I honestly have nothing to say about it whatsoever. AMAZING is all I can say and think.
Melissa says
No need for added salt. with the ranch seasoning, ranch packet, bacon, and cheese there is more than enough salt..other than that this was an easy supper. Taste was good as well.
Ellen says
I am glad you like the taste, and found it easy to make. That is great. I will change the recipe for the salt to be to taste. That really is the best way. Thanks for following.
Samantha Shue says
Quick and easy, our family truly enjoyed every bite!!
Connie says
It seems too easy to be true. Am I reading this right? You don’t have to cook the pasta first?
Aimee says
Sorry, no. If you look in the ingredients it says cooked noodles
Fay Jackson says
I wish every recipe had the nutritional value with it. I could seriously wipe out half this dish. However, I’m trying to lose weight (doing great so far) and have to control the amount of food I eat, counting calories. I don’t deprive myself of delicious recipes, but I do have to know how much I can have. You wouldn’t by any chance have the info on this dish would you?? I would love to make it, and I will!! But just have to know mainly how many calories per serving. Thank you on any help you can give me!
Aimee says
Sorry, I’m working on adding the calories and nutritional info to all our posts, but it takes a lot of time to do them all. I added them now. This definitely isn’t a low calorie dish, but good luck with your weight loss!
Pauline says
Can this be frozen?
Aimee says
Yes! I would make the pasta up through step 5, where you put the pasta in the dish and sprinkle cheese and bacon on top. Then cover with plastic wrap and foil (sprayed with nonstick spray) and place in the freezer for up to 3 months. Allow to thaw overnight, then bake according to directions. Or bake from frozen for about 40-60 minutes until top is bubbly and pasta is hot throughout.
Lyn says
Can you put it together through step 5, then put it in fridge to cook the next morning? Or will it dry out overnight?
Aimee says
I haven’t tried it, but as long as you cover it tightly I think it should be ok
Ginny says
I just tried this. No good people, no good…HOWEVER if you have made this and not eaten it yet…I will save you…just bring your casserole over to my house and I will sacrifice my taste buds all over it. Only because there are starving people in the world and it’s not right to waste food. Seriously this is absolutely delicious!! Thank you for sharing!
Aimee says
Oh my gosh, you had me for a second 😂 So glad you love it 😘
Jamie says
