These peppermint chocolate marshmallows are chewy marshmallows dipped in melted chocolate and covered in crushed candy canes! Such a tasty holiday treat!
One of my favorite food combinations for the Christmas season is chocolate and peppermint. I love peppermint bark, peppermint fudge, or this chocolate peppermint bundt cake is to die for. And now these peppermint chocolate marshmallows.
These marshmallows are such a tasty holiday treat and they are so easy to make too! They’re a delicious large marshmallow dipped in melted chocolate and then covered with crushed candy cane pieces.
These peppermint chocolate marshmallows are a delicious treat to eat whenever you’re craving something sweet. Or they’d be so good for a holiday party. Or wrap a few of them together in a clear cellophane bag for a delicious treat to go. Tie them up with a bow or some ribbon and a cute Christmas tag and they’re perfect goodie bags or to take around to neighbors.
I also dropped a couple of my peppermint marshmallows into a big cup of hot cocoa for an amazing hot drink. Perfect for curling up with a blanket while watching a Christmas movie. That reminds me, what is your favorite Christmas movie? I love Elf, and It’s a Wonderful Life, but I’m happy to watch most of them, even the cheesy Netflix Originals and Hallmark movies <3
These treats are so easy to make, all you need is some large marshmallows, some chocolate chips, and some mini (or large candy canes). First to start you’ll crush up your candy canes using a mallet or something else heavy. Put them in a bag and then crush them up inside the bag so that crumbs and stray pieces aren’t going all over. Set them aside.
Put your chocolate chips in a small microwave safe bowl and microwave till the chocolate is nice and melted and smooth. You will now dip your marshmallows into the chocolate. Dip them covering half of the marshmallow in the chocolate so you still have a part of the marshmallow to hold onto. Allow some of the extra chocolate to drip off and then sprinkle the candy cane pieces over the chocolate, or roll the marshmallow in the candy cane pieces in a bowl.
Place them on a tray lines with parchment paper or a silicone liner and allow the chocolate to fully set before eating or wrapping up.
These are so easy to make that even my kids loved helping me decorate some of their own marshmallows. And they were more than happy to help me eat some of them when they were done too.
These perfect bite sized peppermint and chocolate treats are so adorable and the perfect Christmas treat!
