Garlic Sirloin

On Friday Nate and I decided it would be a splurge night where we would make a fancy dinner, and spend some quality time together. We got our inspiration from Tucanos, although we of course did not have as much meat variety as Tucanos did. I only had this delicious garlic sirloin, while Nate also had a lobster and a couple of shrimp skewers. We did however make some tasty brazillian limeade to go with the meal, which tasted just like Tucanos. We started the meal with an appetizer of broiled bread topped with spinach and artichoke dip, and ended the meal with some wonderful homemade icecream and chocolate lava cakes.

This tasty garlic sirloin is as good as Tucano’s with the delicious garlic butter glaze and is a simple meal to grill up for a special night in too. The garlic butter tastes great on other foods too, like lobster, zucchini and squash and probably more!

It was a great way to spend the evening with my hubby, and I hope we can do some more similar stay at home date nights soon!

I love the idea – beef and garlic – but (hate to be the only negative comment here) the 1 TB garlic salt AND less regular salt is way too much. Intend to try it with just a modicum of kosher salt to let the garlic shine through. Thanks for the idea anyway.

  2. This looks amazing! We LOVE Tucanos and the garlic sirloin is one of my husband’s favorite meats there. Pinned!

  3. Shut the front door, this looks amazing!

  4. Seriously wanting meat right now!

  5. Aimee, We are already discussing what we will do this weekend with your recipe. You have a new baby to cause some dinner time other interests. We both understand. For us, all we have is a couple German Shepherds who want to help!! Teach your children well, I say that is reference to the love of family and cooking together. That is what makes family traditions.
    Regards, Bill and Libby.
( Bruno, Spirit, Valkyrie, and Ms. Jade too)

  6. I just found this via Pinterest. I like the story of your “Be Together” dinner. My Wife and I will be doing this dinner together very soon. We make our own dinners together a lot. BTW: We are married 44 years this month.

    1. William, you will have to let me know what you think of the sirloin! My husband and I love cooking together, though with a baby now its a little harder. Congratulations on 44 years of marriage! That’s wonderful!

I love in an apartment and don’t have a grill. Any thoughts about making this in an oven? Sounds wonderful!

    1. Do you have an indoor grill, maybe a george foreman? I’ve never tried this with an oven, but here’s instructions from Livestrong how to cook sirloin in the oven. It will be shorter time if you cut the steak into pieces like we did.

  8. My husband and I love this recipe for steak. We didn’t even chop up the steaks and just had the whole thing in garlic and butter with pasta and some corn. Delicious!

    1. Wow, Mandi that sounds delicious! I am so glad you liked the garlic sauce on your steaks and it sounds so good with pasta too!

  9. Kim! This was the first time i’ve been on your blog and i found just what i needed! i just added some parmesan powder and it tasted just like Tucanos! thanks!

    1. Kim! Oh my goodness. Thank you so much! I am so glad that you liked the garlic sirloin! I remember we made it because we love Tucanos so much, but I don’t remember how similar it tastes, so thank you for letting me know! I’m so glad it turned out for you!
